Haskins is a pure pocket passer with a phenomenal arm and has the upside to grow into one of the NFL’s better quarterbacks. He was inconsistent at Ohio State, and because of those inconsistencies he will definitely take some time to develop, especially when considering that he has only been a starter for a year. Teams would be wise to let him develop under another quarterback for a year similar to what the Chiefs did with Patrick Mahomes. Haskins is able to get great touch on the ball when throwing, something not all strong-armed quarterbacks can do, and that will make it much easier for his receivers to catch the ball. At the same time, he has shown the ability to rifle the ball into tight windows. Haskins has prototypical size for a quarterback and a great feel in the pocket, helping him to avoid pressure despite not being very mobile. Accuracy was Haskins’s greatest inconsistency in college, but he has shown the ability to be very accurate at times. With the proper coaching he could become a pretty accurate quarterback. Overall, Haskins has flashed the ability to be a franchise quarterback and has all the tools necessary to succeed, but he is very raw and will need time to develop.
