Henry Ruggs III
WR, Alabama
Draft Projection: Top-20
NFL Comparison: Ted Ginn Jr.
Ruggs has elite speed which will give him the chance to become an explosive playmaker on the next level. A major problem that many speed guys struggle with is a lack of toughness, causing durability issues and making them into guys who essentially just run deep. Ruggs isn't like that. He is very tough and has demonstrated the ability to even run through guys at times. He has good but not great hands, which will cause some problems but won't prevent him from becoming a great player because speed guys don't need great hands to succeed. In particular Ruggs struggles in contested catches and that will be a problem if he is facing physical cornerbacks. After the catch Ruggs has shown the ability to run past guys and make big plays with the ball in his hands. He is a solid route runner but will need to improve to become an elite NFL receiver. Overall, Ruggs has special speed and all the tools necessary to become a very explosive player on the next level, but there are some areas he could improve in so it will take him time to reach his full potential.
