Joe Burrow
QB, LSU
Draft Projection: 1st Overall
NFL Comparison: Andrew Luck
Joe Burrow is almost a guarantee to be the top pick in the draft, and for a good reason. The guy is more than capable of operating at an NFL level, as he has a great football IQ. Burrow is very quick to get through his progressions and is a phenomenal decision maker because of this. He also has elite accuracy, enabling him to hit his receivers in stride and fit the ball into tight windows. Burrow is also a very solid runner, demonstrating great burst in college, which enables him to extend plays and turn plays that could be very bad into positive gains. The most important traits of Burrow's, however, are the fact that he demonstrated great leadership while at LSU and was able to win a National Championship, proving that he is a winner and won't crumble under pressure. Burrow's biggest weakness is the fact that he doesn't have an elite arm, but we have seen that an elite arm isn't necessary to be great in the NFL before. Just ask Tom Brady, Drew Brees, Peyton Manning, and many other all-time greats. Overall, Joe Burrow has the qualities of a franchise, Super Bowl winning quarterback despite his average arm strength, and he should be a great success in the NFL.
