Williams is an elite interior rusher, something incredibly rare and valuable in today’s NFL. The best interior rushers are some of the best, most impactful players in the league. Some examples include Aaron Donald, Chris Jones, and Fletcher Cox. Interior pass rushers are incredibly impactful because it’s very hard for the quarterback to evade them. Mobile quarterbacks can’t run in the opposite direction like they do when rushed by an edge defender because they would be running backwards and non-mobile quarterbacks can’t step up in the pocket like they do when pressured by edge rushers because they’d be stepping into the defender.
