Hockenson is a fantastic overall player. He is one of the best blocking tight end prospects I have ever seen, and he is also very good as a receiver. He will make a big impact in the run game as a blocker right away. As a receiver, Hockenson is an elite route runner with good size and strength. He has solid hands and is relatively fast. Hockenson is also very good after the catch. He has no weaknesses as a receiver, but my main worry is that he won’t be as dynamic as elite tight ends in the NFL. He isn’t super fast or super athletic and has good but not great hands. He is being hyped-up as a future star and people think he is going to be one of the best tight ends in the league, but Hockenson’s lack of elite athleticism and hands could prevent that from being the case. Overall, though Hockenson likely won’t be an incredibly dynamic receiver, he will be a very good starter in the second-tier of receiving tight ends in the NFL and an elite blocker.
