A.J. Green

WR, Bengals

A.J. Green is an elite fantasy receiver when he plays, but he currently has an ankle injury that is expected to sideline him into the regular season. The Bengals are saying they hope it only costs him a couple of games, but it could cost him more. If you are thinking about Green, pay close attention for updates about the injury. He is simply too good to let slip past the fourth round if he will only miss a couple of games. If he misses an extended period of time, however, he should not be drafted until the sixth round. Dr. Jessie Morse (a real doctor) gives Green an 8/10 injury rating making him high risk at the moment, and even if he returns from his ankle injury he will be at an increased risk to re-injure it this year. Green had 45 catches for 687 yards and six touchdowns in eight full games last year (not including week 13 against the Broncos when he got hurt) which would total 90 catches for 1,374 yards and 12 touchdowns over the course of an entire season. This shows how good Green is, but his injury is important to keep in mind when deciding when to draft him.
