Adam Thielen

WR, Vikings

Injuries ruined Adam Thielen’s season last year, but he is now fully healthy and should return to his old form. In week 7 Thielen suffered a hamstring injury that affected him for the rest of the season, but in the six games prior to the injury Thielen had 26 receptions for 366 yards and 5 touchdowns. That paces out to 69 receptions for 976 yards and 13 touchdowns. Those aren’t elite numbers, with the exception of touchdowns, but now Stefon Diggs is gone and Thelen will be by far the best receiving option on the Vikings. He should get a large chunk of Diggs’s 94 targets from last year. The Vikings did add Justin Jefferson, but he is only a rookie and won’t be nearly as productive as Diggs was this year. The Vikings were also very run-heavy last year which contributed to Thielen’s underperformance, and though it is likely they will be that way again, Dalvin Cook is holding out. If he ends up missing time, Thielen will do even better because the Vikings will be passing the ball more. Overall, Adam Thielen is still the receiver he was two years ago now that he is healthy, and with Stefon Diggs he could be looking at a career year, so he is worth drafting in the third or fourth round.
