Clyde Edwards-Helaire

RB, Chiefs

Now that Damien Williams has opted out, Edwards-Helaire is the lead back in one of the best offenses in the NFL. The Chiefs obviously want him to be involved a lot in their offense because they were willing to spend a first round pick on him. Edwards-Helaire is considered the best route runner since Christian McCaffrey and has great hands, so he could be looking at 90+ receptions next year. He will be getting almost all of the Chiefs carries as well, and the last time we saw a running back do that was Kareem Hunt, who was on pace for 1,200 rushing yards before being placed on the commissioner's exempt list. Edwards-Helaire will also get the goal line work. In games in which Patrick Mahomes has started for the Chiefs, Chiefs running backs have averaged 1.72 touchdowns per game. That paces out to 27.52 touchdowns over the course of an entire season. His floor is probably 10 touchdowns and his ceiling is over 20. When Kareem Hunt was the lead back for this Chiefs offense he was on pace for 20 touchdowns in his 11 games, so Edwards-Helaire. Regardless of how good you think Edwards-Helaire is as a player, he is in one of the best possible situations so he will produce. Overall, Edwards-Helaire has top-3 upside and is almost surely going to be in the top-10.
