Dak Prescott

QB, Cowboys

1200px-U+25CB.svg.png

Dak Prescott has some of the highest passing upside in the league this season after putting up 4,902 passing yards, 30 passing touchdowns, and 11 interceptions along with 277 rushing yards and 3 rushing touchdowns. The Cowboys have since added CeeDee Lamb, an incredibly talented rookie receiver, in the first round and replaced Jason Garrett with Mike McCarthy. Lamb will give Dak yet another great weapon and makes the Cowboys’ receiver core possibly the best in the league. Mike McCarthy’s arrival is huge for Dak because McCarthy has always been a pass-first type of coach. Zeke will still get lots of work, but Dak will likely see even more opportunities to pass the ball and better, more creative passing plays with McCarthy in the fold. In addition, Amari Cooper should be fully healthy going into the season and will be able to produce better than he did towards the end of last year. The combination of McCarthy’s arrival and the Cowboys’ receiving core gives Dak the upside of leading the NFL in passing yards and touchdowns. They also give him a pretty good floor. Overall, Dak has massive upside and is a relatively safe pick so he is worth drafting in the fifth or sixth round.

Analytics-Based Projected Points: 387.5
