Derrick Henry

RB, Titans

1200px-U+25CB.svg.png

Derrick Henry was a monster last year, putting up 1,746 yards from scrimmage, 18 total touchdowns, and 18 receptions in 15 games (1,862 yards from scrimmage, 19 total touchdowns, and 19 receptions over the course of an entire season). He was even better in the playoffs, with 467 yards from scrimmage, 2 total touchdowns, and 5 receptions in 3 games (2,490 yards from scrimmage, 11 total touchdowns, and 27 receptions over the course of an entire season). Though the playoffs don’t count for fantasy, the Titans were able to go on a surge against some of the best teams in the NFL by running the ball around 30 times, and now that they know that strategy works they will want to run it even more than they did last regular season. Because of that, we could see Henry potentially have over 2,000 rushing yards this year. The Titans are going to run the ball almost every play. The great thing about Henry is that despite being 26 he has only been the starter for around a year and a half so he doesn’t have the wear and tear that certain other guys do. That will enable the Titans to give him even more touches than they would if they had other elite running backs. Obviously Henry’s problem is the fact that he gets next to no receptions, which is fine for standard because he is going to have more rushing yards than anyone else, but it hurts in PPR. Henry gets so many rushing yards and rushing touchdowns, however, that it’s impossible to put him lower than the sixth best running back in PPR. Overall, Derrick Henry is going to be the focal point of his offense and get tons of rushing yards and touchdowns and you should expect similar if not better numbers than last year for Henry, so he should go in the top five in standard and top seven in PPR.
