Devin Singletary

RB, Bills

Devin Singletary had a phenomenal rookie year, putting up 969 yards from scrimmage, 4 total touchdowns, and 29 receptions in 12 games. In the 10 full games that Singletary played, he had 856 yards from scrimmage, 3 total touchdowns, and 28 receptions, which paces out to 1,370 yards from scrimmage, 5 total touchdowns, and 45 receptions. Those are great numbers, and they don’t even consider the fact that it took Singletary time to carve out a role in the offense last year. Now that Singletary has broken out, he should be able to produce even more. The issue with Singletary comes with the additions of Stefon Diggs and Zack Moss. Diggs will force the Bills to pass the ball more often, and he will take targets from Singletary. That will likely offset the increased role Singletary was expected to play in the passing game and he will end up with around the 45-50 receptions that he was on pace to get in his 10 full games. Zack Moss will take over Frank Gore’s old role, so Singletary will not have much touchdown upside. Despite these additions, Devin Singletary’s role could increase next year now that the Bills know how good he is, so he could produce around 1,300-1,500 yards from scrimmage, 45-50 receptions, and 5-6 touchdowns. The Bills’ changes on offense make Singletary somewhat of a risk, however, so draft with caution. He is worth drafting as early as the fourth round.
