Jared Cook

TE, Saints

1200px-U+25CB.svg.png

Jared Cook had a solid season last year with 43 receptions for 705 yards and 9 touchdowns in 14 games. Those numbers were weighed down, however, from the time that Drew Brees missed. Cook was MUCH better with Brees on the field. In his nine full games with Brees, Cook had 30 receptions for 574 yards and 7 touchdowns. That equates to 53 receptions for 1,020 yards and 12 touchdowns over the course of an entire season. Those would be elite fantasy numbers for a tight end, yet Cook isn’t being talked about whatsoever in the conversation amongst top tight ends. Emmanuel Sanders will take some of Cook’s targets, but Cook wasn’t a super high-target guy last year and still produced. Cook likely won’t be able to put up over 1,000 yards and 12 touchdowns next year, but around 900 yards and 10 touchdowns is certainly possible and would likely put him in the top-5. Overall, Jared Cook is being incredibly undervalued and is one of the two tight ends that you should target if you miss out on the top guys (Hayden Hurst is the other).
