Julian Edelman
WR, Patriots
Julian Edelman is in line for a massive workload, as he always gets a ton of catches. He was great last year, recording 74 catches for 850 yards and six touchdowns in 12 games. Over the course of an entire season that would give Edelman 99 catches for 1,133 yards and eight touchdowns, which would be the best season of his career in yards and touchdowns and the second-best in catches. Josh Gordon is back, but Edelman was actually better with Gordon on the field, assuming he would regress in touchdowns in games without Gordon. In 10 games with Gordon. Edelman had 63 catches for 711 yards and four touchdowns (101 catches for 1,138 yards and six touchdowns over the course of a season) compared to 11 catches for 139 yards and two touchdowns in two games without Gordon (88 catches for 1,112 yards and 16 touchdowns over the course of an entire season). Edelman scored more touchdowns without Gordon, but he has always been incredibly inconsistent when it comes to touchdowns so those aren't predictive of next year. Rookie receiver N'Keal Harry is there, but it's very hard for rookie receivers to adapt to the NFL, and it's probably five times harder with the Patriots because of how complex their playbook is. Even if Harry can adapt quickly, there's still nobody else in that receiving core beside him and Edelman. Overall, Edelman will get a ton of catches this year so he is worth taking towards the end of the fourth round in PPR formats only.
