Kenyan Drake

RB, Cardinals

1200px-U+25CB.svg.png

Kenyan Drake was incredible in the eight games in which he played in Arizona last year. He had 814 yards from scrimmage, 8 total touchdowns, and 28 receptions. That equates to 1,628 yards from scrimmage, 16 total touchdowns, and 56 receptions over the course of an entire season. And that was with David Johnson there for six games. Drake isn’t an insanely talented running back but he is in a great situation. He is really the only running back in Arizona, and the Cardinals are going to have a great offense next year with a great scheme, Kyler Murray, DeAndre Hopkins, Larry Fitzgerald, Christian Kirk, and Andy Isabella. Defenses are not going to be focused on Drake and he will have tons of touchdown opportunities because this offense will be moving up and down the field. The improved offense gives reason to believe that Drake can potentially improve the numbers that he put up last year, giving him monster upside. At the same time, Drake comes with some risk because he has only been productive in a small sample size, and within that sample size he was very inconsistent (he was a boom-or-bust player within those eight games). Drake had never shown that he is capable of being a full-time running back before the end of last year. At the same time, his floor is decent because of the fact that he is the only starting-caliber running back in what appears to be an elite offense. Overall, Drake is a relatively risky, inconsistent player because of the fact that he hasn’t sustained success over a long period of time, but he has top-5 upside.
