Kyler Murray

QB, Cardinals

1200px-U+25CB.svg.png

Kyler Murray appears primed for a breakout season after a phenomenal rookie season in which he won Offensive Rookie of the Year. Kyler had 3,722 passing yards, 20 passing touchdowns, and 12 interceptions along with 544 rushing yards and 4 rushing touchdowns. Those numbers are incredibly impressive for a rookie and enabled Murray to finish as a top-10 fantasy QB. Heading into his second year Murray could make the second-year jump that both Patrick Mahomes and Lamar Jackson took and become one of the best young quarterbacks in the NFL. In addition, the Cardinals added DeAndre Hopkins to be Murray’s top receiver, so the Cardinals are suddenly looking like they have one of the best receiver cores in the NFL with Hopkins, Christian Kirk, and Larry Fitzgerald. Kliff Kingsbury will be in his second year as a head coach as well, so he will be able to perfect his offense to put Murray in the best position to win. Not only does Murray have incredibly high passing upside because of his receiving core, he has the highest rushing upside of any quarterback not named Lamar Jackson, as he was second in the NFL in rushing yards last year and is rumored to have 4.3 speed. Murray’s ability to run should improve, allowing him to build on his 544 yards and 4 touchdowns on the ground this season. The threat of him throwing the ball downfield is also a major problem for defenses, and that will open up additional running lanes for Murray. Overall, Kyler Murray has some of the highest upside of all quarterbacks in the NFL, and it would be no surprise to see him win MVP at the end of this season, so he is worth drafting in the fifth or sixth round.
