Matthew Stafford

QB, Lions

1200px-U+25CB.svg.png

Matthew Stafford was incredible before getting injured last year with 2,499 passing yards, 19 passing touchdowns, and 5 interceptions along with 66 rushing yards and no rushing touchdowns in 8 games. That paces out to 4,998 passing yards, 38 passing touchdowns, and 10 interceptions along with 132 rushing yards. Those would be MVP-caliber numbers for Stafford. If Stafford can continue to play like that, he could be a league-winner as a late-round pick, but he comes with some concerns. First of all, Stafford has been inconsistent throughout his career so that could just be a phase when he is playing very well and had he been healthy he would’ve fallen off later in the season. Second of all, Stafford’s back is a major concern because we have no idea how healthy it is and whether or not it will prevent Stafford from returning to form. Third of all, Stafford is on a bad team, and that always hurts fantasy value, especially for a quarterback. All of these concerns have made Stafford slide down to triple-digit picks, but he is worth drafting as a late-round high-upside type of player than you pair with another quarterback.
