Russell Wilson

QB, Seahawks

1200px-U+25CB.svg.png

Russell Wilson is one of the safest fantasy players you can find and still has very high upside with a receiving core that appears to be on the rise. Last year Wilson had 4,110 passing yards, 31 passing touchdowns, and 5 interceptions along with 342 rushing yards and 3 rushing touchdowns. Tyler Lockett got injured after nine games and was never the same, and that definitely impacted Wilson. In the nine games with a healthy Lockett Wilson had 2,505 passing yards, 22 passing touchdowns, and 1 interception along with 203 rushing yards and 3 rushing touchdowns. That ends up being 4,453 passing yards, 39 passing touchdowns, and 2 interceptions along with 360 rushing yards and 5 rushing touchdowns. Now that Lockett is fully healthy, D.K. Metcalf is expected to take a second year jump, and the Seahawks added Greg Olsen, Wilson has incredibly high upside and his floor is likely what we saw last year. The Seahawks are still looking like a run-first team so Wilson won’t get as much volume as some of the other quarterbacks in his tier, but he is so efficient that he will still be a great fantasy option. Overall, Russell Wilson is very safe and has great upside so he is worth drafting in the fifth or sixth round this year.

Analytics-Based Projected Points: 392.4
