Saquon Barkley
RB, Giants
Saquon Barkley is arguably the most talented running back in NFL history, and he will once again be a great fantasy option. The Giants' offensive line got better over the offseason with the additions of Kevin Zeitler and Mike Remmers, but that shouldn't improve his efficiency because Barkley is bound to see regression in terms of efficiency next year. He ran for 20 or more yards on 6% of his carries last year, which is twice the league average. Barkley is a player that relies on splash plays to produce good fantasy numbers, and though he will surely get some of those plays again next year, he can't be expected to do it as often as he did last year. Another issue with Barkley is that with Odell Beckham Jr. gone defenses will focus on Barkley more next year and he's on a bad offense. Saquon faced a ton of stacked boxes last year and was very good against them, as he faced the fourth most loaded boxes last year, and averaged 5.73 yards-per-carry when there were at least eight defenders in the box. The issue is that his yards per carry against stacked boxes are definitely going to regress, and he is going to face even more stacked boxes than last year. On top of that, with the Giants' bad offense Barkley won't have many scoring opportunities as he did last year. The bad offense may also cause Barkley to see a decrease in workload because they will have fewer overall plays. Some make the argument that with Beckham gone Barkley will be the only option which will give him an even bigger workload than he did last year, but the Giants have openly stated that they don't plan to give Barkley more touches than they did last year. Overall, Barkley won't see an increase in touches, and possibly even a decrease, and will surely regress next year, so don't expect him to put up the same numbers as he did as a rookie. With that in mind, Barkley still has a floor of 1,500 total yards and eight touchdowns along with an insanely high ceiling because of his talent alone, so draft him with confidence if Kamara is off the board.
