Tyler Higbee

TE, Rams

Tyler Higbee had been irrelevant in fantasy for his entire career before the final five games of last season. He ended up with 69 receptions for 734 yards and 3 touchdowns in 15 games, but in his first 10 games of the season Higbee had only 26 receptions for 212 yards and 1 touchdown (42 receptions for 339 yards and 2 touchdowns over the course of the season). Through his last five games, however, Higbee had 43 receptions for 522 yards and 2 touchdowns. That ends up being 138 receptions for 1,670 yards and 6 touchdowns over the course of an entire season. That would likely be the greatest fantasy season for a tight end ever. Higbee would break the single-season record for catches and yards for a tight end. Obviously those numbers are not sustainable over the course of an entire season, but if Higbee can play like he did at the end of the season he could enter the tight end tier with Travis Kelce and George Kittle. The problem is that it was an extremely small sample size and it could have been just a fluke, then again, most tight ends would not be able to pull that off. If it is, Higbee could be a bust, but if it’s not, he could be the steal of the draft and a league-winner. Higbee is worth drafting as early as the sixth round if you are willing to take a risk, but if not, he would make sense to grab in the seventh or eighth round if he falls.
