Zach Ertz

TE, Eagles

1200px-U+25CB.svg.png

Zach Ertz took a step back from his record-breaking 2018 last year with 88 receptions for 916 yards and 6 touchdowns in 15 games (94 receptions for 977 yards and 6 touchdowns over the course of an entire season). The problem with Ertz is that Dallas Goedert is going to have a larger role on this offense, Alshon Jeffery and DeSean Jackson will both come back from injury, and the Eagles drafted Jalen Reagor in the first round. Ertz isn’t going to be getting the same target numbers he has in the past. At the same time, he will be a much better player next year because Ertz battled through injuries all of last season, so he can be expected to end up with similar production. To put into perspective how much the injuries affected Ertz, he had a 65.2% catch rate last year, and that was his lowest mark since 2014. Overall, Zach Ertz doesn’t have elite upside because of all the weapons that have been added to this offense but he is a relatively safe pick, so he is worth drafting in the late third round this year.
