DeVonta Smith is a phenomenal player. He is very fast, though not quite a burner, with good height and elite hands. He’s a fluid route runner who is consistently able to get a lot of separation. He catches virtually everything thrown his way and is confident enough in his hands that he can run through the ball, allowing him to maximize his yards after the catch. Smith is very good after the catch and is able to jump very high, allowing him to get some serious high-point receptions. Smith’s only problem is that he’s too light, coming in at only 174 pounds. That will make him a bigger injury concern unless he’s able to put on weight. Other than that, however, Smith is an elite weapon who should emerge as a star very quickly.
