Long is a big-bodied tight end who is great at making contested catches. He is great in the red zone and on underneath routes. When running down the seam, Long has the ability to make contrasted catches down the field if nobody else is open. His biggest problem as a receiver is the fact that he has difficulty getting separation. Long isn’t very fast and doesn’t have the quickness to bea good route runner, which will severely limit his production in the NFL. As a blocker, Long could also stand to improve, but he has the upside to eventually become a good blocker. Overall, Long isn’t going to be a TE1 because of his struggles separating, but he could be a solid TE2 that is able to make a big impact in the red zone.
