Patrick Surtain II is a great press corner with the size and speed to cover most receivers in the NFL. Surtain has the speed (4.46 40 time) to keep up with receivers downfield and doesn’t take many false steps. He has great eyes and ball skills, allowing him to consistently deflect the ball or get interceptions. Surtain has great instincts and is able to identify routes with ease. He’s also good against the run. Surtain’s only real issues are the fact that he isn’t tremendously quick so he’ll struggle versus small, quick receivers and that he doesn’t consistently re-route receivers at the line. Neither issue is a very big deal, however, because Surtain can just avoid covering quick receivers and he doesn’t take false steps, so even if he fails to re-route a receiver, he won’t get burnt. Overall, Patrick Surtain II is a great player with few holes. He should be an immediate impact starter and has the potential to become an All-Pro.

Analytics-Based Prospect Grade: 95.7
