Slater is undersized for a tackle, which has led many to believe that he may be better suited to play inside. He has the skills necessary to be a great starter at left tackle, however, and he could end up looking similar to Isaiah Wynn in the NFL. Wynn is undersized too, and while he has had some injury concerns, he’s been great when on the field. Slater has great knee bend, quickness, and balance. Whenever in a bad position, Slater always finds a way to recover, which is an amazing trait to have in the NFL. Slater doesn’t have elite power, but he’s able to compensate with his quickness and polish. In the run game, Slater takes great angles and is phenomenal at cutting off linebackers. He has excellent awareness. Overall, Slater may be undersized and lack the typical length of an NFL tackle, but he should be able to succeed regardless.

Analytics-Based Prospect Grade: 94.6
