Richie Grant
S, UCF
Draft Projection: Rounds 2-3
NFL Comparison: Tedric Thompson
Richie Grant is a good all-around safety who should be able to become a solid starter in the NFL. Grant has the ability to play a variety of different safety spots and is decent in man coverage, demonstrating the ability to match up against tight ends. He consistently baits quarterbacks, allowing him to generate turnovers. When Grant lined up at down safety, he seemed to get confused at times which led to blown coverages, so he will need to develop a better understanding of certain concepts. Against the run, Grant is willing to tackle, but he’s average in run support. Overall, Richie Grant is a well-rounded prospect who does a lot of things well but nothing about him is outstanding, so he should be able to be a decent starter in the NFL.
