Travis Etienne is a one-cut running back with game-breaking speed. He has good size and is surprisingly powerful. When in the hole, Etienne is able to absorb contact without losing his balance, enabling him to fight his way downfield where he can use his speed to take it to the house. Etienne is a home-run hitter who is a threat to score every time he touches the ball. Etienne is also a very good pass catcher who can run a variety of routes out of the backfield. He is especially effective on screens. In addition, he sometimes lined up out wide and even demonstrated the ability to run double-moves. Etienne’s biggest concern is his lack of elusiveness. He simply lacks the agility to get around tacklers, so he instead relies on his speed and balance to run past defenders. That could severely limit Etienne’s upside. Overall, Etienne should become a home-run hitting RB1, but his lack of elusiveness is concerning and will limit his upside.

Analytics-Based Prospect Grade: 94.8
