Trey Hill was fantastic during the 2019 season. He was a good run blocker and excellent in pass protection. Hill was even able to handle Derrick Brown one on one. Many believed Hill was a great talent and that he would be the top center in this year’s draft based on the results of his 2019 season. Unfortunately for Hill, he was not in the 2020 season because he got too heavy. His weight caused him to have bad technique in every aspect of his game, which led to some horrible play. He also had trouble snapping the ball. Hill has all the upside in the world, but he will need to control his weight if he hopes to be successful in the NFL. It’s tough to know whether or not Hill will be the great player we saw in 2019 or the opposite, so Hill isn’t worth the risk of a second round pick. He could end up being a steal in the mid rounds, though.
