Brandon Aiyuk

WR, 49ers

Brandon Aiyuk was incredible down the stretch last season. In his last six games, not counting week 17 in which he was badly hurt and only used as a decoy, Aiyuk had 45 catches for 568 yards and 4 touchdowns. Over the course of 16 games that would be 120 catches for 1,515 yards and 11 touchdowns. And he got those numbers in the midst of a hamstring injury and getting Covid. As a rookie. The guy is phenomenal and looks like, in terms of pure talent, he will be one of the best receivers in the NFL. Aiyuk will take a second year jump, like most receivers do, so expect him to be even better next year. Now, there are some arguments against Aiyuk that are certainly valid. Most of his production last year came with George Kittle and Deebo Samuel out. With those two back in the mix, he will see fewer targets. The 49ers are still a run-first offense, so it will be hard for Aiyuk to put up those elite numbers with two other weapons on the field. Nonetheless, Aiyuk is an incredibly talented player who is the WR1 in a high-end offense. Don’t overthink this. That alone warrants his current ADP and gives him tremendous upside with a solid floor. While you shouldn’t expect him to be as productive as he was down the stretch last year, you can still expect him to be at least a top-25 receiver with the potential to end up a lot higher.
