Christian McCaffrey

RB, Panthers

1200px-U+25CB.svg.png

Christian McCaffrey missed the majority of last season due to injury, but he’s still far and away the best running back in fantasy. The only running backs with more 24.8+ PPR point performances than McCaffrey last year were Alvin Kamara, Derrick Henry, Dalvin Cook, and David Montgomery. And McCaffrey only played in three games. Two years ago when he was the top running back in fantasy, he averaged 25.7 PPR points per game. He averaged 27.2 PPR points per game last year. So he somehow got better. McCaffrey isn’t injury prone despite the fact that he missed a lot of time last year. He played in all 16 games in his other three seasons. The injury concerns McCaffrey had last year probably had something to do with the messed up training schedules caused by Covid. Things are returning to normal this year, so that won’t be a problem. The injuries that McCaffrey did have won’t linger this year. He probably would’ve been able to play down the stretch to end the season but the Panthers were awful so there was no reason to put him on the field and risk making the injury worse. Expect CMC to be fully healthy this year. The Panthers also have the easiest schedule in the NFL for running backs this year, so McCaffrey will be able to be successful with ease. McCaffrey is the obvious choice at first overall.
