Derrick Henry

RB, Titans

Derrick Henry is a safe pick. He’s probably the safest pick in fantasy other than Christian McCaffrey. He’s going to get a ton of touches and will almost definitely lead the league in rushing. Now that Julio Jones is on the Titans, defenses won’t be able to load the box to stop Henry as much. Some may argue that he’ll get fewer touches since Julio is there, but that won’t necessarily be the case. This offense will be much better, so they’ll be on the field for longer. If they’re on the field for longer, Henry will have more opportunities to get the ball. That’ll offset the touches that Julio takes away. The problem with Derrick Henry is that he doesn’t have the ceiling of Christian McCaffrey or Dalvin Cook in PPR because he doesn’t catch many passes. Henry’s ceiling is what he saw last year with 2,000 rushing yards and 17 rushing touchdowns. He only had 19 receptions though, so he wasn’t necessarily a league-winning guy in PPR. Christian McCaffrey and Dalvin Cook are so good that when you have them and they hit their ceiling, your team is a near lock to be one of the top three in the league. That isn’t the case with Henry, so he shouldn’t go before those two guys in PPR. In standard leagues, the case could be made for Henry at first overall, however, and he should definitely go before Dalvin Cook.
