Julio Jones

WR, Titans

1200px-U+25CB.svg.png

Julio Jones was still the same player he always has been last season. If you remove the two games in which Julio got hurt and left early, his 16 game pace was 103 catches for 1,600 yards and 7 touchdowns. Now, it is concerning that he struggled with so many injuries, especially considering his age. Julio has always been a durable player, so the fact that he dealt with multiple injuries means that age is probably starting to get to him. Those could be the signs of a decline happening in the next year or two. Jones is 32, so he’s right around the age where we see receivers start to drop off. And when players drop off, they drop off quickly. That makes Jones risky because we can’t know if this will be the year that he is suddenly no longer an elite player. The other problem with Julio Jones is that there are a ton of mouths to feed in Tennessee. The Titans are a run-first team with Derrick Henry and also have an elite receiver in A.J. Brown. Jonnu Smith and Corey Davis both left, which will free up targets, but Julio will still likely see less volume than he did in Atlanta. Overall, Julio Jones is a little risky because of his age, but he still has great upside because he is a Hall of Fame talent playing in a great offense.
