Kirk Cousins

QB, Vikings

1200px-U+25CB.svg.png

Kirk Cousins has been a reliable quarterback for a long time. He has finished in the top-12 in five of his last six seasons. The issue with Cousins is that the Vikings are a very run-heavy offense, which will make it difficult for Cousins to get back into the top-12 next year. The only reason Cousin was able to be a top-12 quarterback last year was the fact that he had a career-high 6.8% touchdown rate. Justin Jefferson should take another step forward, which will definitely help Cousins, but he’s still likely to regress back to his career average in touchdown rate, which means he’ll probably miss the top-12. Regardless, Cousins is a very safe, dependable option at quarterback once the top guys are off the board. He’s best suited to be a solid QB2 with minimal upside but minimal risk. He’d be a solid backup in one quarterback leagues or a nice player to pair with a high-risk quarterback like Joe Burrow or Trevor Lawrence (if your high-risk player busts you can start Cousins). Cousin is also a great QB2 in two quarterback leagues if you don’t want to go QB-heavy early in the draft.
