Kyle Pitts

TE, Falcons

1200px-U+25CB.svg.png

Kyle Pitts is a high-risk, high-reward player. He is considered by most people to be a generational talent at tight end. He is 6’ 6’’, 240 lbs and runs a 4.44 40 yard dash. Pitts also has an incredible catch radius and was very productive in college. He seems primed to become an elite tight end in the NFL. The issue with Pitts is, of course, the fact that he’s a rookie. He hasn’t proven himself in the NFL and rookie tight ends tend to struggle because the transition from college to the NFL is especially difficult for that position. The loss of Julio Jones means Pitts will be able to get a ton of targets if he plays well, and he is immediately the Falcons’ top red zone option. Pitts has elite, top-3 upside even as a rookie, but it might be hard for some fantasy managers to overlook how much risk is involved in picking him. If Pitts ends up being a bust this year, which is a very real possibility, you’ll end up needing to search the waiver wire for another option. Pitts probably makes the most sense to draft if you are willing to spend another somewhat high pick on a safe tight end like Logan Thomas or Mike Gesicki. Overall, Kyle Pitts is a TE1 with a high ceiling but a low floor.
