Lamar Jackson

QB, Ravens

1200px-U+25CB.svg.png

Lamar Jackson regressed quite a bit last year. He was easily the best quarterback in fantasy two years ago but struggled a lot as a passer last season. Jackson was great down the stretch, however. In his last five games he had 809 passing yards, 11 passing touchdowns, 430 rushing yards, and 4 rushing touchdowns. That’s 2,589 passing yards, 35 passing touchdowns, 1,376 rushing yards, and 13 rushing touchdowns over the course of 16 games. Those numbers would make him the QB1 in fantasy. Jackson likely struggled at first because of Covid. Everyone’s routine was thrown off, so it’s entirely possible that Jackson’s struggles were in part because of the weird schedule. Once Jackson adjusted to the new schedule, he improved. Lamar should also improve because last year he wasn’t throwing to the best weapons. Mark Andrews is a stud, but other than him, Hollywood Brown hasn’t proven much and Willie Snead is decent at best. The Ravens added Rashod Bateman in the first round this year and also brought in Sammy Watkins. Their pass catchers still aren’t elite, but they’re definitely better. Overall, Lamar Jackson isn’t in the same tier as Patrick Mahomes or Josh Allen, but he’s still an elite fantasy quarterback.
