Myles Gaskin

RB, Dolphins

1200px-U+25CB.svg.png

Myles Gaskin was a good fantasy option last year. He played in 10 games and averaged 18 touches on a per game basis. Gaskin isn’t a workhorse back, however. He’s only 205 lbs and showed that he can’t stay healthy for an entire season with that large of a workload. The Dolphins brought in Malcolm Brown, so this looks like it’ll be more of a running back by committee. Brown will take the early work and the goal line work and Gaskin will be more of a receiver. He could easily have an Austin Ekeler-esque role, however. Gaskin was great as a receiver last year. He was the best running back in the NFL in yards per reception, third in yards per route run, and third in catch rate. If Miami chooses to use him like Ekeler, he could be a great receiving option. At the end of the day, however, Gaskin simply doesn’t have the upside that many think he has. He’s not going to be a workhorse back unless Malcolm Brown gets hurt, but his receiving production should be enough to make him a high-end flex.
