Nick Chubb

RB, Browns

1200px-U+25CB.svg.png

Last offseason the Browns attempted to address their offensive line, and it worked to perfection. Cleveland had PFF’s highest graded run blocking offensive line in the NFL last year. The result is that Nick Chubb had a great season. In 12 games he had 1,200 total yards and 12 touchdowns. Nick Chubb’s upside is obviously limited because he doesn’t catch many passes, which hurts even more in PPR. He only had 16 receptions last year. But, he did more in the receiving game in the second half of the season. In weeks 12 through the Divisional Round (8 games), Chubb had 23 targets and 19 receptions, so Chubb will be decent through the air. Even though he won’t be getting over 50 catches, Chubb can still be a top running back. Chubb is probably the second best pure-runner in the NFL behind only Derrick Henry and is behind an elite offensive line. He’s also on a good offense so he will get a lot of touchdown opportunities. The Browns had a relatively new offense last year with many new pieces on the offensive line, so another year together will only make them better. Overall, Nick Chubb isn’t going to catch a ton of passes, but he’s incredibly safe and has strong upside.
