Robert Woods

WR, Rams

1200px-U+25CB.svg.png

Robert Woods had a good season in terms of catches and touchdowns. He saw a career high with 8 total touchdowns and tied for his career high with 90 receptions on the year. Woods took a step back in receiving yards, however, as he had only 936 yards through the air. Matthew Stafford’s arrival should help Woods take a step up, however. Stafford loves to throw the ball deep and is a significant upgrade over Jared Goff. Robert Woods is a better deep threat than his fellow Rams receiver Cooper Kupp, so he should get quite a few downfield targets. He will definitely have more production on deep passes than he has in the past. The Rams did bring in DeSean Jackson and Tutu Atwell, two speedsters who can get open downfield, so they will take up some of Woods’s deep targets. They will also open things up for Woods underneath, however. Overall, Robert Woods’s worst case scenario is a low-end WR2 getting around 15 PPR points per game like he has been getting in the past, but he has more upside than in past years because of the fact that he has a much better quarterback throwing to him.
