Russell Wilson

QB, Seahawks

1200px-U+25CB.svg.png

Russell Wilson started off last year as the MVP front-runner and completely fell off in the second half of the season. He averaged 34.4 points per game in the first half of the year and then dropped all the way to 18.6 points per game in the second half of the year. Pete Carrol seems intent on keeping the Seahawks as a run-first offense, which massively hurts Wilson’s upside. He isn’t going to repeat the first half of last year, but he also probably isn’t going to repeat the second half. That season was a tale of two extremes. Instead, expect Wilson to finish in between the two, which is where he usually ends up. Wilson has been a top-6 fantasy quarterback in four of the last six and has a great supporting cast with an incredible receiving core and Chris Carson in the backfield. The offensive line has seemingly improved, but it’s hard to tell how big of an impact their new additions will really have. Overall, Russell Wilson is a great player with a great receiving core and he has proven to be successful in the past, so he should be seen as a solid QB1.
