T.J. Hockenson

TE, Lions

1200px-U+25CB.svg.png

T.J. Hockenson had a breakout season en route to 67 receptions for 723 yards and 6 touchdowns. Hockenson has the potential to be even better this year with Kenny Golladay, Marvin Jones, and Danny Amendola all off the team. He is without a doubt the top target on this offense and should see a massive uptick in targets. That means he’ll be especially good in PPR because Hockenson will get a ton of catches. There are a couple of issues for Hockenson, however. First of all, he is seeing a downgrade at quarterback with Jared Goff taking over for Matthew Stafford. Defenses are also going to dedicate a lot more attention towards Hockenson now that the Lions have practically no receiving talent. Hockenson hasn’t been the most efficient player, so it might be hard for him to get open with so many defenders on him. Nonetheless, it’s hard to find a tight end outside the top-3 who will be the focal point of their team’s passing offense, so Hockenson should be considered a TE1 with great upside.
