Tom Brady

QB, Buccaneers

1200px-U+25CB.svg.png

Tom Brady is a QB1 that has fallen in fantasy drafts primarily due to the fact that quarterbacks who can run have become more popular in fantasy. But Brady had 4,633 passing yards and 40 passing touchdowns last year, which are great numbers. He should be even better this year, too. First of all, Brady played all of last year with a torn MCL. That isn’t as big of a deal as many make it out to be because he doesn’t run, but it still hindered his ability to play and he should play better now that he’s healthy. In addition, Brady is in year 2 of the Buccaneers’ system and has had more time to build chemistry with his new receivers, which will be helpful. Finally, Brady now has a full season of Antonio Brown and Chris Godwin. Brown was suspended for the first half of last season and Godwin struggled with injuries throughout the year, so Brady didn’t actually play a ton of games with his entire receiving core. Overall, Tom Brady doesn’t have the rushing upside of elite fantasy quarterbacks, but he’s still a very solid, safe option.
