Tyler Lockett

WR, Seahawks

Tyler Lockett has been a very productive player for the last three years. He’s had over a thousand yards two of these three seasons and the only time he didn’t eclipse 1,000 yards he had 965 and got hurt and missed a little time, but more importantly, wasn’t the same player down the stretch because of the injury. Lockett is also great in the touchdown department, scoring 10, 8, and 10 touchdowns respectively in each of his last three seasons. Lockett also had a career-high 100 receptions last season. He’s the number 2 receiver in a good offense with a great quarterback. The biggest problem for Lockett isn’t his production, but how he gets it. He might just be the most inconsistent player in fantasy, and inconsistency ultimately does more harm than good. Last year, 47% of his production came in THREE games (Weeks 3, 7, and 17). Lockett had 37 PPR points in Week 3, 53 PPR points in Week 7, and 33 PPR points in Week 17. That means Lockett will have a few games where he wins you your game, but the rest of the time he’ll be a liability for your team. That’ll ultimately translate to much more losses than wins, and for that reason, Lockett doesn’t make a ton of sense to draft early on. Honestly, he probably makes the most sense to draft as a rotational player, not a full-time starter, but it’s unlikely he’ll be available that late in the draft.
