Though we at Gridiron Draft think the best strategy for defenses is streaming (changing your defense weekly based on matchup using the waiver wire), you should not stream kickers. Draft one guy and keep him for the rest of the season because it's simply too hard to predict how good a kicker will be on a weekly basis. The only time to replace a kicker is if your kicker is on an offense that either suffered a serious injury or simply isn't performing. An example would be Robbie Gould after Jimmy Garoppolo tore his ACL in 2018. Otherwise, just don't switch. Draft kickers in the last round of the draft and no earlier because there is practically no difference between the top kicker and the last one taken. Last year, the top kicker only scored 3.5 more points per game than the 17th. There is no value in drafting a kicker before the last round.
